Trained as a watchmaker, he and his wife June founded a watchmaking company that they named after him. Founded in 1951, the internationally acclaimed Obrey brand stands out for its original designs: watches on solid silver chains, models with highly individual volumes and lines, dials without numerals on which the hands indicate the time without the assistance of numerals or indexes. According to family tradition, Émile Isman received our vase from an ambassador or diplomat posted to China at an unspecified time.
