BESANCENOT (Jean) – Arab and Berber Jewellery of Morocco. Casablanca, Editions de la Cigogne, 1953, quarto, loose-leaf, in the publisher’s half-cloth cardboard slipcase with laces. XV – Preface by Marcel Vicaire. XVI+21 pp., 40 black-and-white plates and a colour frontispiece. The 40 plates present an iconographic survey of 193 models of Moroccan jewellery, a collection of forms and motifs drawn by Jean Besancenot, accompanied by commentary supplementing the visual descriptions. First edition, limited to 650 numbered copies on Crèvecoeur vellum from the Marais paper mills, printed on J. Dumoulin’s presses. The plates were printed using offset by the author. This is copy no. 1. Very good condition.
