[Manuscripts] - 1. Historical and Geographical Atlas. One volume in Italian-style quarto, red half-maroquin, smooth spine with the title ‘Notre Dame 1863’ in gold lettering (probably referring to Le Puy Notre Dame, as noted in another volume on geometry that belonged to the same person), salmon-coloured chagrin-patterned cloth covers, with the title gilded on the front cover followed by the name Irene Ayel (contemporary binding). The title page, *Contrées de l’Europe*, is richly calligraphied. The text comprises 133 unnumbered folios in very legible handwriting, set within a thick black border, and each region of Europe is represented by a watercolour map; in total, there are 13 full-page maps of fine quality. The name, Irene Ayel, which appears on the front cover, refers to the owner of the volume, and is undoubtedly the author, who may have been a teacher. On another volume on geometry, the same name, I. Ayel, is inscribed on the front cover. 2. Metric System and Geometry.
