Description
[Archives & Research, the CACQUERAY, ARMENONVILLE and BOISFRANT families]. ARCHIVAL AND RESEARCH FILE compiled by Jean TREMBLOT de LA CROIX, curator of the Institute’s library, with a view to publishing a work on the inventor of French window glass and his family (the Cacquerays), comprising:
- Extract from the marriage register of the parish of St Vivien in Rouen, dated 18 October 1752, concerning the marriage of Louis François Le Vaillant, Lord of Valcourt, to Marie Olimpe Félicité Barbette (daughter of Pierre Barbette and Madeleine de Caqueray).
-Marriage contract of Louis-Robert LECOUSTURIER d’ARMENONVILLE and Louise-Olimpe DUPERIER BOISFRANT, drawn up in Gisors on the second supplementary day of Year Six of the French Republic (18 September 1798); a copy of this contract is attached.
-Marriage contract of Mr de Caqueray and Mademoiselle de Guizy.
-Marriage contract of Monsieur and Madame d’ARMENONVILLE dated 2 June 1770.
-Decree of the commission responsible for ruling on the return of seized and unsold property, decision handed down on 5 September 1818.
-Statement of income and expenditure for Madame de BOISFRANT, residing in Paris, drawn up by Monsieur Lebaube on 19 Fructidor, Year XII (6 September 1804).
-Deed of purchase dated 27 July 1775 for the Basincourt Mill.
-Three summonses to appear in court and numerous handwritten legal documents.
-A lease for the ninth year, commencing on 11 November 1810, and miscellaneous documents.
-A letter dated 1 April 1821 from Frédéric de CAQUERAY appealing to the Marquis de LA TOUR MAUBOURG, Peer of France, Minister and Secretary of State for War, to grant him military retirement, accompanied by a sheet of notes detailing his service record, a certificate dated 10 April 1821 from the Ministry of War, signed by the Sub-Intendant LIEGEARD, and a certificate of rank as Battalion Commander dated the same day.
-*Hier Aujourd’hui Demain*, a bi-monthly historical and anecdotal gazette, dated 15 April 1923. In which A. de Caqueray is mentioned on page 7 (page numbering handwritten in graphite).
