Handwritten bookplate of Henri Etienne Heurdefeu, repeated on page 1. Marie-Anne ROBERT, née ROUMIER (1705 – 12 January 1771, in Paris) was a French feminist writer and one of the pioneers of feminist science fiction. Her work reflects a constant tension surrounding the question of how to be both a woman and a philosopher of the Enlightenment, even as the Enlightenment itself excluded women from the realm of reason.
