History of Joseph, Kitab Zahr al-Kimam fi Qissat Yusuf 'alayhi al-Salam, by Siraj al-Din Abu Hafs 'Umar b. Ibrahim b. 'Umar al-Ansari al-Ausi al-Mursi, 17th century
Manuscript in Arabic on ivory and salmon paper. 17 lines per page in black and red ink in naskh. Undated. Numerous possession marks dated from the 19th century, and one dated Dhu'l-Qada 1078H./April 1668. Bound in brown leather with embossed decoration of a mandorla. (Minor accidents, wear, wetness, very worn binding, flap missing, not collated).

This text is a commentary in verse and prose on the story of Joseph as told in the Koran. The author, a Sufi active around 1284, appears to be different from Abu al-'Abbas al-Mursi. A biography of the Sufi Shihab al-Din 'Abu'l-'Abbas Ahmad b. 'Umar al-Ansari al-Mursi, dated Rajab 740/January 1340, is kept at the Chester Beatty in Berlin.
