Ottoman Qur'an, Turkey, Istanbul, with an attribution dated 1185H./1771-72 Arabic manuscript on paper. 15 lines per page in naskh in black and red ink within red fillets, and gilt rosettes. Most sura titles missing. First page illuminated with frontispiece. The following page with the beginning of Sura II is missing. Colophon in another hand indicating that the Qur'an is in the hand of the late Hafiz Mehmed Efendi, teacher at the school of Gand Vizier Yusuf Pasha near Aksaray in Istanbul, and this inscription is dated 1185H./1771-72. Bound with flap and cover decorated with chequered patterns.
