Book of Salvation, Kitâbü'n-Necât, by Isma'il Haqqi, Ottoman, copied by Yusuf 'Akif Shumni and dated Shawwal 1255H./December 1839-January 1840
Ottoman Turkish manuscript on paper, Kitâbü'n-Necât (Kitab al-Najât), small encyclopaedia of Islam by Isma'il Haqqi. 167 written folios, plus 5 folios at the beginning containing the table of contents and 9 blank folios with gilt fillets at the end. 21 lines per page in black and red ink in Ottoman taliq within a gilt frame. Beautiful frontispiece with sarlowh. Colophon signed and dated. Subsequent red binding and title on label (Minor accidents, wetness, wear, restorations, binding damaged, not collated).
