The Conference of the Birds, Mantiq al-Tayr, by 'Attar, Ottoman Egypt, copied by Muhammad 'Ali b. Husayn 'Ali Balkhi dated 20 Shawwal 1006/26 May 1598 Persian manuscript on paper, incomplete, 180 numbered folios, 13 lines per page on 2 columns in nasta'liq in black and red ink. First page with a pasted-on frontispiece, but text missing, and on subsequent pages as well. Mention on the first page indicating that the text is that of the conference of birds. Colophon signed and dated.
