Vol 1 sale from 27 january to 1 february 1902 galleries of MM. Durand-Ruel, in folio paperback, 363 pp. numerous unnumbered plates, nomenclature of netsuke, table of artists' names, index. Vol 2 drawings prints, illustrated books, sale from 2 to 6 June 1902, Hôtel Drouot, in folio paperback 287 pp. numerous unnumbered plates, table of artists' names. Vol 3 objets d'art et peintures deuxième partie, sale from 16 February to 21 February 1903, in folio paperback, 321 pp. numerous unnumbered plates, table of artists' names. All volumes contain numerous plates. All photographic pages are protected by a sheet of tissue paper printed with the lot number and often the name of the artist. Each volume has its own original cover. All the items come from the impressive Hayashi collection. The sales were held in 1902 at Galeries Durand-Ruel and in 1903 at Drouot. Japanese collector and dealer Tadamasa Hayashi (1853-1906) arrived in Paris in 1878 as an interpreter and assistant to Wakai Kenzaburo. T. Hayashi was appointed chief curator of the Japanese exhibition at the 1900 Paris World Fair. Binding faded.
