BOCCACE Tales of Boccage. Le Vasseur, 1931. Illustrated with 45 free-standing colour etchings by Berthommé Saint André. One of 20 copies numbered in Roman numerals intended for the artist and his collaborators, 15 of which are on Arches vellum; this is artist’s copy no. VI, featuring a small signed drawing in the margin. It is accompanied by two volumes containing: 4 original libertine drawings by the artist, all signed, including 2 in watercolour; two black-and-white suites, one of which includes annotations; and one colour suite. 3 volumes of text and 2 volumes of plates, square in-8, petrol-blue half-maroquin with corner pieces, spine with 4 raised bands, title and volume number in gold, gold fillet on the covers, original cover preserved. Interior in fresh condition.
