RAGUENET (François) – History of the Viscount of Turenne, Marshal-General of the King’s Armies. Paris: Published by the widow of Mazière & J.-B. Garnier, 1735, in-4, epistle, preface, 597 + CL pp. of the text, contemporary full speckled calf bindings, spine decorated with five raised bands, edges painted red, title labels in red morocco. Both volumes. The frontispiece is missing. The engravings by Scotin are remarkable; they depict the life of Marshal de Turenne. Illustrated with 13 folding plates. Covers the sieges of Sedan, the Battle of Nördlingen, the capture of Brisach, the siege of La Motte and Charles IV of Lorraine. Very good condition.
