SALIN (Edouard), *The Rhine and the East: The Early Middle Ages in Lorraine as Revealed by Funerary Artefacts – Three Excavation and Laboratory Campaigns*, with a foreword by Albert Grenier, Paris: Librairie orientaliste Paul Geuthner, 1939. A large quarto volume, bound in red half-leather. Spine with two raised bands. A fine copy sent by the author to Albert France-Lanord (also bearing the latter’s bookplate), dated 13 November 1940. Salin and France-Lanord were the founders of the metal restoration laboratory, originally based at the Musée Lorrain in Nancy, and now located in Jarville.
