BASSOMPIERRE (François de). The Embassy of Marshal de Bassompierre to Switzerland in the year 1625. Cologne: published by Pierre du Marteau, 1668, 2 volumes in-16, 388 + 316 pp. Bound in contemporary marbled full calf, spine with six hot-stamped gilt compartments. Hot-stamped ex-libris on the covers: Nicolas François, Baron de Metz (1751–1825), Attorney General in Nancy. Signs of wear and rubbing. The descendants of Nicolas de Metz established themselves under the surname Metz-Noblat.
