A rare hardback album with a white, indented square spine, the first volume of the series in its original French edition. Published by Dargaud S.A., Pilote Collection. Legal deposit: 3rd quarter 1961. The back cover bears three ‘already published’ titles. The album is in good condition. BDM valuation: €5,000. Spine entirely white with worn caps and small tears with no loss at the lower joints (the largest: 3 cm). Corners worn. Scuff marks on the covers. Small loss where the Roman soldier’s arm meets the front cover. Small adhesive label in the top right-hand corner of the flyleaf (visible through capillary action on the reverse) and a pencil annotation in the top right-hand corner of the title page. Small ink stain on the following double-page spread. On pages 23 and 24, last speech bubble: small loss of paper and a mark. Page 26: very small tear in the bottom right-hand corner (margin).
