3 parts in one folio volume (35.5 x 26 cm), brown half-maroquin, decorated raised spine (modern binding by F. Domenech).
New printing (watermark dated 1824) of the bilingual edition of this collection (first published in English in 1810, then in English and French from 1812–1813).
Sketches of the country: the title and text are in English and French (title, table of plates, 38 folios of text), frontispiece and 40 views, all engraved in aquatint and enhanced with watercolour by J. Clark after the author’s drawings, unnumbered.
Followed by: Sketches of military costume in Spain and Portugal. Undated (title and 8 pp. of text in English, 13 plates of military costumes engraved in colour using the aquatint technique by J. Clark, with a title in English and French).
At the end: Historical and chronological table of memorable events of the war in Portugal and Spain (24 pp., no title page, in French and English).
