4 vols. in-8 (21 x 12.5 cm), green half-calf, plain spine with decoration, black title and volume number labels, marbled edges (contemporary bindings).
First edition of this account of the Marquis de Custine’s journey to Spain in 1831, published five years after the death of Ferdinand VII.
Volumes I to III bear an erroneous ‘Second Edition’ stamp, and the set is complete with the folding poster announcing a bullfight in Madrid on 18 April 1831.
Spines faded.

– BLAYNEY (Major-General Lord). An Account of a Forced Journey through Spain and France, from 1810 to 1814. Translated from the English and with notes by the translator. Paris, Arthus Bertrand, 1815. 2 vols. in-8 (20 x 12.5 cm), green half-basane, plain spine with decoration (contemporary bindings).
First French edition. Binding very scuffed, with tears.
– TWISS (Richard). A Journey through Portugal and Spain undertaken in 1772 & 1773. Bern, published by the Typographical Society, 1776. 8vo, marbled calf, spine with raised band and decoration, marbled edges (contemporary bindings).
French first edition, translated from the English (London, 1775), and illustrated with a frontispiece after Raphael and a folding map at the end.
Ex-libris: Louis Tourel Bullfighting Library stamp.
Binding scuffed, cap bands missing.
– AMADE. Voyage en Espagne, ou Lettres philosophiques, containing a general history of the recent wars on the Iberian Peninsula. Paris, Encelin and Pochart; Auch, office of the *Journal du Gers*, 1822–1823. 2 vols. in-8 (21.5 x 12 cm), half-parchment, plain spine, orange title label, untrimmed (modern binding).
First edition, illustrated with 2 fold-out maps (one detached).
