First edition of this account of the Marquis de Custine’s journey to Spain in 1831, published five years after the death of Ferdinand VII. Volumes I to III bear an erroneous ‘Second Edition’ stamp, and the set is complete with the folding poster announcing a bullfight in Madrid on 18 April 1831. Spines faded. INCLUDED: – BLAYNEY (Major-General Lord). An Account of a Forced Journey through Spain and France, from 1810 to 1814. Translated from the English and with notes by the translator. French first edition, translated from the English (London, 1775), and illustrated with a frontispiece after Raphael and a folding map at the end. Ex-libris: Louis Tourel Bullfighting Library stamp.
