Account of the Battle of Espinosa de los Monteros, won by the French army over the Spanish on 10 and 11 November 1808.
In-4 (25.6 x 19.5 cm), half-morocco in green ‘Empire’ long-grain leather, smooth spine (contemporary binding).
A rare account of the two-day battle that pitted the troops of the Marquis de La Romana against the French forces. Won by the French, this battle cost the Spanish more than half of the 45,000 men engaged.
