The Disasters of War.
Complete series of 80 plates, 1810–1820, etching and aquatint, approx. 16 x 22 cm, margins 24 x 32 cm (Harris 121–200), fine impressions on heavy vellum from the first edition of 1863 (Harris III 1b, with errors in the lettering corrected), each print mounted on a tab, in very fine overall condition (no stains), a few small holes in the wide margins, notably in plates 15, 36, 54 and 73, watermark: JGO and Palmette, printed in an edition of 500 copies, in an oblong folio album (25 x 35 cm), later binding in marbled half-calf with corner caps, smooth spine embossed with fleur-de-lis in blind stamping, gilt title. A fragment of the title page (torn) is enclosed, but the biographical note is missing.
