History of the European Cabinets during the Consulate and the Empire, written on the basis of documents held in the Foreign Office archives. 3 vols. in-8 (20.5 x 13 cm), blue or violet percaline with embossed decoration (contemporary binding). Second edition of this famous diplomatic and political history of Europe between 1800 and 1815, first published in 1841. Volumes I and II, marked ‘second edition’. Spines faded, some foxing. Provenance SCS (? dry-stamped monogram with crown). ATTACHED – FISCHER (Chr. Aug.). General and Complete Collection of Letters, Proclamations, Speeches, Messages, &, &, &, by Napoleon the Great. Leipzig, H. Graaf, 1808. 8vo (20 x 11.5 cm), fawn half-basane with corners, decorated ribbed spine, black title label (20th-century binding). First edition of this collection of letters from 1796 to 1807, with historical notes, compiled for the first time by the Saxon writer and traveller Christian August Fischer (1771–1829). – PRADT (M. de). Historical Memoirs on the Spanish Revolution. Paris, Rosa, Veuve Perronneau, 1816. In-8 (20 x 12 cm), beige half-basane, plain spine with decoration, red title label (modern binding). First edition.
