Posthumous first edition, edited by the author’s son-in-law, General de Fleishmann. André Miot de Melito (1792–1841) lived through the Revolution and the Empire. A close associate of Joseph Bonaparte, he was notably entrusted with missions in Corsica and Italy, before serving as attaché to the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of Spain.
