Description
REVIEW].– Palma, , printed by Miguel Dominguo, 1812–1813. Aurora patriotica mallorquina. 5 vols. in-8 (20 x 13 cm), fawn half-maroquin, decorated ribbed spine, burgundy and green accents (modern binding by Brugalla, 1982). Complete collection from issue no. 1, 15 June 1812, to issue no. 127, 30 December 1813. This political and constitutional journal, founded by Don Isidoro de Antillón, was one of the main organs of Spanish liberalism during the War of Independence. Following the absolutist restoration of Ferdinand VII, it was persecuted, and copies were systematically destroyed. A rare set, and this one is in fine condition. Volume III, handwritten bookplate crossed out on the title page, water stain at the end of the volume.
