A rare, complete first edition in 3 volumes. Translated into French in 1823 under the title *Histoire de la guerre de la Péninsule sous Napoléon*, it is one of the most important overviews of the Spanish War and the Napoleonic invasions.
Binding worn; covers of vols. I and III detached; the joint on the front cover of vol. II split; very slight and scattered pinholes and foxing. The cardboard binding of vol. II is different from that of vols. I and III.
