SUCHET (Louis-Gabriel) Paris, Adolphe Bossange, Bossange père, Firmin Didot, December 1828. Memoirs of his campaigns in Spain from 1808 to 1814, written by himself. Folio (52 x 35 cm), modern fawn half-calf, with a green title label of the period, covers in calfskin of the period with copper-coloured spandrels. Atlas only, accompanying the posthumous first edition (2 vols.) of the official account of the Spanish War based on the notes of one of Napoleon’s most brilliant marshals, Marshal Suchet. It contains 16 views and maps engraved on copper. Faint water stains and foxing. Spine repaired. Bibliography Foulché-Delbosc, *Espagne et Portugal*, no. 268 (lists 15 plates).
