Description
TISSOT (Pierre-François)] Paris, Le Fuel, [1819–1820].. Trophies of the French armies from 1792 to 1815. 6 vols. in-8 (21.5 x 13 cm), Bradel binding in green long-grain half-maroquin, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets and monogram, untrimmed (contemporary binding). First edition. 6 frontispiece titles and 70 separate plates by Couché and Budin, all engraved on steel by Couché and Bovinet. Most known copies contain only 60 plates. Spines darkened, bindings slightly rubbed; tears to the head cap of the 1st vol. Foxing, a small fragment of serpentine paper glued to a plate. Provenance – L. (gilt monogram at the foot of the spines). – Dr Federico H and Alejandro (bookplate).
