[ALBUM AMICORUM].– LÉVY (Amélie Siona) 19th century. Album amicorum for Amélie Siona Lévy. In-16 (10 x 6.3 cm), bound with attached covers, red long-grain half-maroquin, wooden boards printed with a tartan pattern, traces of a clasp on the upper board. An album amicorum containing a collection of autographs, drawings, poems and photographs addressed to Amélie Siona Lévy, a 19th-century actress and poet. It features figures such as Alfred Musset, a leading figure in Romantic literature, as well as Alexandre Dumas, Théophile Gautier, Ferdinand Hiller, Louis Blanc and Horace Vernet. This collection of contributions illustrates the diversity of the artistic circles frequented by the playwright Siona Lévy: literary, journalistic, musical and pictorial. The album also brings together literary contributions, as well as three drawings, including: - a female figure representing Sappho, signed ‘by the deaf-mute artist’, - a series of hairstyles signed by Alfred Musset, - a double-page landscape depicting a fisherman’s hut, signed by Edmond of Toulon, - two collages, along with a set of four photographs grouped together on one page, as well as a (presumed) photographic portrait of Siona Lévy. – A P.
