A collection of 22 original albumen prints for the Boulaq Museum album.
A fine collection of 22 photographic plates taken from the famous Boulaq Museum Album.
These photographs are taken from the volume published in Cairo in 1872, which contained 40 plates. This volume constitutes the first catalogue of the first Egyptian museum, founded by Auguste Mariette-Bey at the request of Pasha Mohammed Saïd, who was concerned about the fate of the Egyptian antiquities that had been unearthed. The text was written by Auguste Mariette-Bey.

The albumen prints are mounted on card, with the plate number printed on the reverse; 5 plates are accompanied by their printed, cut-out captions. Slight foxing.
