[FONTANA].– JOUFFROY (Alain) Milan, Schwartz, 1962. The Sword in the Water. In-4 (30 x 23.8 cm), beige canvas Bradel binding with black and gold geometric decorations, plain spine, artist’s name in full, plates mounted on tabs, cardboard slipcase (publisher’s binding).   An illustrated edition featuring 10 original etchings and aquatints as insets, including 2 in colour, by Lucio Fontana, accompanied by poems by Alain Jouffroy. Each plate is signed, numbered (no. 69) and, in part, mounted on a double-leaf sheet and protected by plastic film. *L’Épée dans l’eau* is Volume I of the *Les Contemporains* series, forming part of the *Anthologie internationale de la gravure contemporaine* collection, published by Galerie Schwarz. Limited to 100 copies, this is one of the 75 numbered in Arabic numerals (no. 69). A rare copy of this magnificent and significant collection of engravings by Lucio Fontana.   A fine copy despite sun-faded spine and slight discolouration of the black slipcase on the beige cloth.
