Description
[MAGAZINE].– [ELUARD (Paul)]
Paris, no publisher given, then Éditions de la Jeune Parque, 1944–1945.
L'éternelle revue.
2 small in-12 vols. (13.5 × 10.5 cm), loose-leaf, and 5 vols. in-12 (approx. 17 x 13.3 cm), black half-chagrin Bradel binding, covers in coloured Annonay paper, title gilded lengthwise on the spine, covers and spine preserved (Leroux).
A fine and rare, complete set comprising the first two issues (June and July 1944) of this magazine, founded clandestinely by Paul Eluard, and the six issues of the new series (December 1944–December 1945), taken over by Louis Parrot.
The first two issues, published clandestinely (‘pass on all the clandestine publications you receive to those around you. Throwing them away is a bad deed’), are particularly rare. They are here in perfect condition, with issue no. 2 still uncut.
They contain texts by Aragon [François la Colère], Char [Alexandre], Éluard [Jean du Haut], Leiris [Hugo Vic], Ponge [R. Mars], etc.
