In-12 (19.5 x 13.1 cm), black percaline Bradel binding, plain spine with the title, author’s name and publisher’s name in gold lettering, trimmed edges, dust jacket preserved (publisher’s binding).
Definitive first edition and first printing, with the words ‘First edition’ on the copyright page, and the first print run dust jacket featuring Salinger’s hair grazing the upper edge of the back cover and the price of $3.00 correctly positioned above the ‘R’ in ‘Catcher’.
Ex-dono: ‘I enjoyed this book and am sending it along in case you have not already seen it. Sister (?) 31 March ’52’.
A fine copy, in first edition and first printing, of one of the greatest classics of American literature.
Spine sun-faded and a few tears with a tear on the dust jacket; a slight stain and residue from the dust jacket paper at the top of the spine; a few foxing spots; a small hole in the margin on page 197.
