[UTRILLO].– CARCO (Francis) Paris, Pétridès, 1947. Montmartre as experienced by Utrillo. Quarto (38.5 x 28 cm), in folios, illustrated hardback cover, with the publisher’s slipcase and dust jacket. First edition, illustrated with 22 colour lithographs, including 12 plates, based on gouaches by Maurice Utrillo, printed by Mourlot. The book was published to mark an exhibition dedicated to Utrillo’s work at Paul Pétridès’s gallery in 1947. Limited edition of 240 copies; this is no. 93, printed on Arches vellum paper. A fine copy despite some foxing in the margins on certain pages; the slipcase and cover are slightly rubbed. Bibliography: Monod, 2255.
