[VILATÓ].– GARCÍA LORCA (Federico) Paris, GLM [Guy Lévis Mano], 1950. Funeral Song for Ignacio Sánchez Mejías. Small quarto (28 x 18 cm), in folios, yellow cover, slipcase and case. Edition illustrated with 5 woodcuts by Javier Vilató. Limited edition of 888 numbered copies; one of 23 from the first print run on Arches vellum paper (no. 2), including a set of 5 signed copperplate engravings. With an additional signed but unnumbered proof of the first engraving; the proofs in the series are numbered 5/23. Original double drawing in Indian ink and wash, signed Vilató with the inscription ‘For Jean Petithory, 1964’. The artist was Pablo Picasso’s grandnephew. Provenance Jean Petithory (dedicated).
