The Major Elegies. 6 folio volumes (43 x 33 cm), in folio format, illustrated hardback covers, slipcases with flaps for each volume and a shared slipcase. I. Elegy of the Trade Winds. 3 original etchings by Hans Hartung. II. Elegy for Jean-Marie. 4 original lithographs by Zao Wou-Ki. III. Elegy for Martin Luther King. 4 original lithographs by Alfred Manessier, assembled. IV. Elegy for Georges Pompidou. 4 original lithographs by Marie-Hélène Vieira da Silva. V. Elegy for Carthage. One original aquatint and 4 culs-de-lampe by Pierre Soulages. VI. Elegy for the Queen of Sheba. One print (silkscreen) and 13 vignettes by Étienne Hajdu. All original prints are signed by the artists. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies on Arches vellum paper (No. 90); each volume is signed by the author and the artist.   Minor snags to the shared slipcase, with slight water stains at the bottom; the title on the spine of the folders is occasionally slightly faded; otherwise, each volume is in very fine condition.
