Description
ZWEIG (Stephan) Paris, Stock, Delamain and Boutelleau, 1932. Amok, or The Madman of Malaysia. In-12 (17 x 10.1 cm), navy blue shagreen Bradel binding, ribbed spine decorated with motifs and gold fillets, trimmed edges, cover preserved (contemporary binding).   Second edition of the French translation, with a preface by Romain Rolland. It follows on from the 1927 edition and includes the correction of an error pointed out by Rolland in the preface. Sent by the author ‘to Mr Henri Kauffmann, with warm regards from Stephan Zweig’. Author’s signature on the title page. Slight foxing and a few small holes on some leaves, particularly on the cover and half-title page. Provenance Henri Kauffmann (bookplate and dedication).
