In-4°, slate-coloured half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed and inlaid with five pieces of maroquin depicting a green vine leaf and an ochre snail, gilt head, cover by (L. Magnin). Illustrated by Madeleine Lemaire with 36 exquisite drawings, including a portrait of the author, with a second state on Japanese paper bearing a note and 19 full-page illustrations. Slight rubbing at the hinges and spine, a few foxing spots. A copy on strong paper, attractively bound by Lucien Magnin.
