[ARTS AND CRAFTS] FOUGEROUX DE BONDAROT, Auguste-Denis. The Art of Working with Gilded or Silvered Leather. No place [Paris], no publisher [Guérin & Delatour], 1762. Folio, 19th-century black half-percaline binding. 42 pp., 2 full-page copperplate plates. Some scuffing (particularly along the edges), the title page is browned and has a few scattered foxing spots, margins slightly frayed, and the pages are slightly warped where they meet the plates. First edition, complete with its two engraved plates, the first by Pierre Patte (1723–1814) and the second by the same artist after Simonneau. This volume, devoted to leatherwork, forms part of the ‘Description des Arts et Métiers’ collection, which began in 1709 and included plates from 1761 onwards. Bears several library stamps on the title page and a hand-drawn library ex-libris in Italian. A fine copy.
