[TEXTILE ART] KIRCHHEIM (collection). Orient Stars. A Carpet Collection. The catalogue of the exhibition dedicated to one of the finest private collections of Oriental carpets. Stuttgart and London, Kirchheim and Hali Publications, 1993. Folio size, publisher’s black cloth-bound hardback, straight spine decorated with the title in grey and a pasted-on vignette; the title repeated in grey on the front cover; in a black cloth slipcase. 391 pp., numerous colour photographic reproductions. Minor soiling to the slipcase. A superb catalogue of the ‘Orient Stars’ exhibition, which was held in Hamburg and then Stuttgart in the summer and autumn of 1993. It showcases part of the private collection of Heinrich and Waltraut Kirchheim, who, between 1985 and 2005, acquired some of the finest carpets – notably Anatolian ones – from the golden age of textile art. A copy of the deluxe edition, in a hardback binding and the publisher’s slipcase, in excellent condition.
