LA TOUR DU PIN, Patrice. *La Quête de la joie*. The first collection of poems by the great Christian poet of the 20th century. A copy in antique Savoy leather from the library of Auguste-Pierre Garnier, in a fine binding by Aussourd. Paris, La Tortue, 1933. In-8, half-maroquin in a coarse fawn grain with corners edged in gilt fillet, spine with four fine raised bands, gilt head, covers and spine preserved. Binding signed by René Aussourd. 119 pp. Some marks on the leather of the second cover. First edition of the poet’s first collection, written when he was aged 22, the title of which alludes to the quest for the Holy Grail. This major work, noted by Superveille, establishes Patrice de la Tour du (1911–1975) as a leading figure in mystical and spiritual poetry. One of 600 copies numbered in antique Savoy. From the library of Auguste-Pierre Garnier, bearing his bookplate. In good condition.
