ROBIDA, Albert. *La Grande Mascarade parisienne*. *A Life of a Punch*. Paris, Librairie illustrée – M. Dreyfous, n.d. [1882]. Quarto, blue half-maroquin with corner pieces, spine ribbed and highlighted with a fine gilt garland, blue percaline covers, gilt head, original covers preserved. 800 pages, numerous black-and-white and colour illustrations, both in the text and as inserts. Spine slightly sun-faded, minimal stains on the covers, paper slightly browned at the margins. Albert Robida (1848–1926), a master of the art of caricature, depicts Parisian life through burlesque sketches, using both text and drawings with biting humour. A fine copy in a sturdy binding.
