A beautiful, ornate edition illustrated with 26 colour woodcuts after Adolphe Giraldon. One of the 50 reprinted copies, this one in a signed binding in full green morocco.

In-8, full morocco in a coarse, spinach-green grain, ribbed spine decorated with gilt title, gilt inner frieze, double gilt fillet at the cuts, guilloché caps, gilt edges on a guard, covers with colour vignettes and spine intact. Binding signed ‘Pinardon’.
187 pp., 27 colour woodcuts, including a frontispiece.
Spine slightly sun-faded, some slight wear and scuffing from handling, a discreet stain on the second cover.
An edition with ornate text on every page and illustrated with 27 engravings after Adolphe Giraldon (1855–1933). Limited edition of 1,050 copies; this is one of the 50 additional copies reprinted in in-8 format on large-size Arches vellum (no. XX), containing a double set of illustrations, one of which is in black and white.
All of Adolphe Giraldon’s compositions were wood-engraved by Ernest-Pierre Deloche (1861–1950), best known for having designed several banknotes for the Banque de France and the Banque d’Indochine.
