Large quarto, fir-green percaline Bradel binding, plain spine with title running lengthwise, embossed floral decoration in the centre of the covers. 102 pages, 6 lithographed colour plates. Some soiling to the slightly rubbed binding; early signs of splitting at the top and bottom of the bands; trace of a removed stamp on the title page. An excellent treatise on Mediterranean tunicates, the second in a series published under the auspices of the Geneva National Institute. The German zoologist Carl Vogt (1817–1895) discusses the Mediterranean species of Salpa, Anchinia, Appendicularia, etc. A clean copy.
