A rare British edition, in French, published in the same year as the original. London, Edward Churton and J. B. Baillière, 1835. 2 vols. in-12, beige-brown calfskin, ribbed spine, panels outlined with gilt fillets, title labels in purple and bottle-green, triple gilt fillet embossed on the covers with gilt fleurons in the corners, gilt roulette on the raised and recessed areas, blue marbled edges. VIII–428 pp. and 412 pp., two identical frontispieces in the form of fold-out maps of the Near East. Spines restored, some scuffing, foxing on the white endpapers and the spines of the frontispieces. British edition published in the same year as the original of this travelogue by Alphonse de Lamartine, here complete in two volumes. Good copies in fair condition.
