Lyon, Yvernault and Cabin, 1811. 8vo, half-vellum, straight spine with handwritten title running lengthwise and date at the foot, untrimmed. XVI–171 and 1 unnumbered leaf (publisher’s catalogue), 5 folded engraved plates at the end. Stains, mainly in the margins. A fine edition, illustrated with 5 engraved plates at the end: the quail, the corncrake, the horned grebe, the green woodpecker and the blue-headed tit. Jacques Mouton-Fontenille de Laclotte (1769–1837) was a professor of botany and natural history at the Faculty of Sciences in Lyon and later director of the Natural History Museum.
