[GEOPONICA]. Constantini Caesaris selectarum praeceptionum,. De Agricultura libri viginti, translated by Ianus Cornarius, physician. A Byzantine compilation on agriculture, based on ancient authors. 16th-century edition, in the Latin version provided by Janus Cornarius. Basileae (Basel), Froben, 1538. In-12, half-vellum with cream-coloured corners, plain spine. 18th-century binding. 4 unnumbered folios, 389 and 1 unnumbered folio (typographical mark). Binding worn, with a small tear on the spine, a few faint foxing spots. Handwritten note in ink at the bottom of the title page. Latin edition edited by Janus Cornarius and reprinted from the Venetian edition of the same year. The *Geoponika* is an encyclopaedic compilation on agriculture and livestock farming, commissioned by Emperor Constantine VII and based on the earlier work of Cassius Bassus. The interior is in fresh condition for this uncommon edition.
