A superb facsimile edition of Matisse’s famous illustrated book, published by Tériade in 1947, containing twenty colour plates featuring some of the artist’s finest paper cut-outs. New York, George Braziller for the Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1983. Folio, loose-leaf, in a pearl-grey slipcase, midnight blue half-cloth binding with grey title, title vignette on the front cover. XVIII, 146 pp., 20 colour plates, 15 of which are double-page spreads. First edition of this magnificent facsimile, printed under the auspices of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Introduction by Riva Castleman, translation by Sophie Hawkes. In excellent condition.
