Quarto, green half-maroquin with corners edged with a double gilt fillet, ribbed spine highlighted with a gilt fillet, richly decorated panels, gilt head, untrimmed. XIII and 404 pages, with numerous black-and-white illustrations both in the text and as inserts. Spine slightly faded, minor wear and scuffing to the binding. First edition of this humorous portrait, in text and drawings, of ‘Paris à cheval’ by Crafty, the pseudonym of Victor Géruzez (1840–1906), known for his caricatures of sporting life.
