Paris, Auguste Aubry, 1854.

A rare volume bringing together for the first time a large part of the writings, mainly in verse, of Nicolas Vauquelin des Yveteaux (1567–1649), a libertine poet from Normandy whose portrait appears as an engraved frontispiece on Chinese paper and mounted onto the bookblock. Limited edition of 300 copies; this is one of the 9 numbered copies on large buff vellum paper (no. 3), the first in the run following two copies on non-commercial vellum.
With an engraved and three-colour printed bookplate by Auguste-Pierre Garnier (1885–1966), a publisher and poet from the Manche.
Bound with:
- a note (14 pp. – 1 folio, unnumbered) by Edmée Jacques Benoît Rathery (1807–1875) on the poet, extracted from the *Moniteur Universel* of 21 October 1851 and preceded by the same bound frontispiece at the beginning of the volume. Limited edition of 400 copies; this is one of the two (no. 2) numbered head copies on coloured paper (blue).
A very fine copy.
