One of the XXXV numbered copies on van Gelder Holland vellum (No. I) reserved for members of the Scripta et Picta Bibliophilic Society, accompanied by a typewritten letter signed by Jean Paulhan. Paris, Gallimard, n.d. [1956]. Uncut 12mo paperback, cover and spine printed in two colours. 158 pp. Slight creasing to the spine. A limited-edition reprint of the text from the original published in 1953. One of the XXXV numbered copies on Van Gelder Holland vellum (No. I) for members of the Scripta et Picta Society. This copy is accompanied by a signed typewritten letter from Jean Paulhan (one in-8 page on NRF letterhead, Paris, 31 March 1955), in response to a proposal for an article on Valéry and Virgil. Both the book and the letter are in very good condition.
