LANSKOY, André. Cover of the collection *Cortège. Dix Poèmes inédits* by Pierre Lecuire. 1959. A superb illustration by André Lanskoy, created using a stencil based on his collages. Heavy paper (Arches vellum, 45.5 x 69 cm), relined and painted in six shades using a stencil; contains 1 section of 2 folios, one of which is printed on both the front and back sides and contains the proof. Two vertical folds (original creases) and a 9 cm tear at the top of the lower crease; some minor rubbing. This colourful cover is the work of the painter André Lanskoy (1902–1976), executed using a stencil by Maurice Beaufumé based on the painter’s collages and under his supervision. It originally bound the collection *Cortège. Dix Poèmes inédits* by Pierre Lecuire (1922–2013), a first edition illustrated by André Lanskoy and published in 1959. The sheet containing the proof for this copy is enclosed; it is unnumbered but signed in charcoal by both the artist and the author. Limited edition of 150 numbered copies on Arches vellum. A beautiful work, just waiting to be framed to brighten up a collector’s home.
