CERVANTES and TOUCHET, Jacques. Don Quixote of La Mancha. Paris, published by Editions du Rameau d’Or, n.d. [1945]. 4 tomes in 4 volumes, in-4, untrimmed, with printed and illustrated two-tone covers with flaps. 227; 248; 217 and 252 pp., numerous colour illustrations in headbands. Some creases on the spines and a few foxing spots on the edges. An illustrated edition featuring original watercolours by Jacques Touchet (1887–1949). Limited edition of 1,000 copies; this is one of the 900 numbered copies on ‘hermine’ paper from the Boucher paper mills (no. 488). Numerous black half-page illustrations and initials, some of which are quite humorous, enliven the tale of the ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha. Copy in very good condition.
